Pub Golf (Match Play)
This is the easier of the golfing challenges, stroke play being the
hardest. Basically 9 holes are played (i.e. 9 pubs visited) and each
player must have a drink in each pub. Awards and penalties can be
gained throughout the course. If you'd like to organise one,
here is a blank score sheet
with
the rules. Just enter the pub names for the holes, pick as many
water / bunker holes as you desire and decide upon a drink off time /
date. Alternatively,
here's
one for a North Berwick and Gullane round all ready for you - just
pick a date / time.
Official of the round:
- A Caddy will be assigned to oversee the round who may be one of
the players or an independent adjudicator.
- The Caddy's decision on judgments is final.
Rules:
- All players will pair up, keep each other's scores and drink
within sight of playing partner.
- The choice of drink per hole is player's own choice, however they
all score differently so choose wisely.
- On the first hole, a double must be drunk to start before the
player's main drink. A double may be a double shot or double shot with
mixer or water or ice.
- Rewards & penalties are added to the score for the completed
drink on the hole unless otherwise stated.
- The lowest score at the end of the round is the winner.
- In the event of a tie, a pint will be selected from the bar of
the 9th hole (if the players cannot decide a common pint between them,
the Caddy will choose one) and all players in the tie will finish their
pint as quickly as possible and place the empty glass upside down their
head to prove it is empty. The fastest pint wins.
Time keeping:
- A maximum of 20 minutes is allowed per hole. The Caddy will time
each hole which starts when all players have their drink. Anyone
drinking before time is on or not completing a hole in time will result
in a penalty.
Accidents:
- Any drink spilled by a person out with the round may be topped up
or played as a reduced hole, e.g. If half a pint is knocked out of a
pint the remainder may continue to be played as a half pint.
- Any drink spilled by a person within the round will result in a
penalty to the person causing the spillage. The drink may then be
topped up or played as describe above. Top up will be paid for by the
guilty spiller. The player who's pint was spilled will be allowed a few
extra minutes if their drink is being topped up.
Hole in one (only possible with a pint):
- Should a player down a PINT
in one, then they will be rewarded
for that hole. Definition of down:
- The player must finish the drink in one go, i.e. drink a full
pint of chosen beverage without taking the glass away from mouth
and completing the task within 30 seconds.
- On completion, the glass should be upturned on the player's
head, thus ensuring the drink was actually finished.
- The attempt should be called before hand by exclaiming “FORE”
to allow timing by the Caddy. Failure to exclaim “FORE” will result in
no reward for the hole.
Hazards:
- Water hazards: Players are not allowed to go to the toilet at any
hole deemed a 'water hazard'. Doing so will result in a penalty.
- Bunkers: To get out of a bunker each player must consume one shot
of their choice (single measure) in addition to their chosen drink.
Shot must be neat, i.e. no water, ice etc, and downed in one.
Out of bounds:
- Blowing chunks or falling off one's seat on a hole is considered
to be out of bounds.
Rewards:
- Hole in one = two shots gained (-2).
Penalties:
- Starting to drink before time is on = two shots dropped (+2).
- Not completing a hole in the allocated time = three shots dropped (+3).
- Spilling own or another player's drink = three shots dropped (+3).
- Failure to complete a hole = three shots dropped (+3) and no points awarded for
drink.
- Failure to have a drink at all = four shots dropped (+4).
- Toilet break during hole (must be before drink has been started
or after it's finished) = two shots dropped (+2).
- Going to toilet on a hole designated as a “water hazard” = three
shots dropped (+3).
- Failure to negotiate bunker = two shots dropped (+2).
- Blowing chunks on the hole = three shots dropped (+3) although blowing chunks between
holes is permitted (however, if one player is called Chunks and he has
a big smile on his face, no penalty awarded).
- Falling over on the hole = two shots dropped (+2).

Pub Golf (Stroke Play)
This is the harder of the golfing challenges, match play being the
easiest. Basically 9 holes are played (i.e. 9 pubs visited) and each
player must drink the par for the hole in each pub. Awards and
penalties can be
gained throughout the course. If you'd like to organise one,
here is a blank score
sheet
with
the rules. Just enter the pub names for the holes, decide on their
par, pick as many
water / bunker holes as you desire and decide upon a drink off time /
- Each player must drink a number of strokes equal to or greater
than the par of the hole except on a par 5 which has its own rules as
described later. Failure to do so will result in a penalty.
- The choice of drink per hole is player's own choice, however they
all score differently so choose wisely.
- Once the stokes for the hole have been drunk, the player's score
for that hole is par (0).
- Any strokes drunk over and above the par of the hole do not carry
over to the next hole.
- Rewards & penalties are added to the score for the completed
hole.
Par 5 hole rules:
- The first shot on a par 5 must be a minimum of 2
strokes.
- To get onto the green, a minimum of 3 strokes are required.
- When on the green, putting will commence:
- A random drink will be chosen from the green whilst blind
folded.
- There will be the same number of random drinks as players on
the
round.
- The drinks will consist of a double shot, a single shot with
mixer and a soft drink. The Caddy will decide a mix of these drinks
which may involve some or none of each putt.
- Any putt completed will result in a par (0) being scored.
Time keeping:
- A maximum of 30 minutes is allowed per hole. The Caddy will time
each hole which starts when all players have their drink. Anyone
drinking before time is on or not completing a hole in time will result
in a penalty.
Accidents:
- Any drink spilled by a person out with the round may be topped up
or played as a reduced hole, e.g. If half a pint is knocked out of a

extra minutes if their drink is being topped up.
Hole in one (only possible with a pint):
- Should a player down a PINT
in one then they will be rewarded for
that hole. Definition of down:
- The drink must be an appropriate number of stokes for the hole.
- The player must finish the drink in one go, i.e. drink a full
pint of chosen beverage without taking the glass away from mouth
and completing the task within 30 seconds.
- On completion, the glass should be upturned on the player's
head, thus ensuring the drink was actually finished.
- If the hole in one attempt fails on a par 5, then the player
will still have to putt on the green as described in the rules
earlier.

Twenty One
Twenty One is a game that starts off simple - and all you have to do is
know how to count up to 21 ... well almost!
Play starts with any player who starts counting from 1. Any player may
say up to a maximum of 4 numbers before stopping which passes play onto
the next player to the left. The person that says the number 21 drinks
2 fingers of their drink.
This is when it gets intersting. After the penalty has been drunk, that
player then changes any number to another word, for example changing
the number 4 to "donkey." On the next count sequence, "donkey" must be
said instead of the number 4, so it would go 1 2 3 "donkey" 5 6 ... At
any time if a number / word is said wrong then the penalty is 2 fingers
of drink. After the penalty, the person then starts again from 1 (or
whatever the number 1 has been replaced by).
To add a bit more interest, try replacing (for example) the number 9
with the word "three." However, so it doesn't get too messy, you may
want to limit the number of numbers replaced by other numbers.
Imagine trying to remember this sequence for example ... nine, banana,
hooker, donkey, kong, twelve, lager, dirty, three, bike, cukoo, money,
one, randy, dandy, cuboid, furry, minge, smelly, poo, sheep.
Dorrito Challenge
This isn't so much a drinking game, but more like something to do when
you're drunk and don't mind looking stupid! For the challenge to be
recorded in the leader board, it must have been witnessed by
at least one other KIDDA member.
You require : a big bowl of Dorritos (or some similar cheaper
equivalent) and very hot dip - none of your mild sh1t here!
Place the dip on your lap and the dorritos on your legs. A cloth or
some other spillage reducing apparatus may be used too!
In a continuous motion, using
BOTH
hands at the same time, your challenge is to eat as many dorritos as
possible. The sequence is pick, dip, eat, pick, dip, eat etc. As you're
shoving a dipped dorrito in your mouth with one hand, your other hand
will either be picking up another dorrito, or dipping a dorrito.
Your attempt ends when you:
- stop
- choke
- drop a dorrito
- eat a dorrito with no dip on it
- spit out some (or all) of the contents of your mouth
- get out of sync and eat 2 dorritos from the same hand in
succession
- or finally, if witness KIDDA members deam that you are going too
slow.
If a dorrito is eaten which is not considered large enough (let's face
it, they will break) as in at least half of the chip, then the attempt
continues, but the small dorrito is not counted.
Currently, the leader board looks like this:

Zip, Boing
Everyone in a circle, or around a table, or basically in any shape or
form that permits an order!
Someone starts either "Zip to my left" or "Zip to my right!" The person
on that side may then say "Zip" and the zipping continues on until
someone says "Boing!" When this happens, the direction is changed. Only
rule is that you cannot "Boing" a boinger (i.e. If the person beside
you "Boings" and passes to you, you cannot "Boing" them back) Anyone
missing their "Zip" or "Zipping" out of turn or even "Boinging" a
"Boinger" must drink 2 fingers of drink.
To make it more interesting, get faster and faster!
Thumbs
Every one starts with two thumbs. To explain, we will use 4 people
called Eric Saint Eddie and Guitar.
Eric starts. He must pick a number between 1-8 as 8 is the max thumbs.
He says "1 2" then his chosen number. As he says the number, people
decide whether to stick up 0 1 or 2 thumbs. If he guesses the number
right he reduces his thumbs to 1. The aim is to have no thumbs left. If
he guesses wrong it's the usual 2 fingers!
Obviously as people reduce the number of thumbs the max number reduces
5 is about the max number of people for this game. If you use more
change thumbs to coins but play as normal (number of coins in every
ones right hands to work this)
I've Never
This is a Queensland favorite as we learn so much about each other.
Best played with close friends. Rules are simple ... someone says "I've
never ..." then something they've never done. Anyone who has done what
was said drinks ... you guessed it 2 fingers!
Pinties Pint
For the Brits who are old enough, see if you recognise it. "This is a
word association game where you mustn't pause hesitate or repeat a
word. If you do,
it's 2 fingers like this or like this!" (Saint loved Timmy Mallet)
I'm Spartacus
Not so much a drinking game as a way of p1ssing off others in the pub!
At the start of the night you draw cards the suicidal king is Spartacus
(hearts). A pre chosen word e.g. "kebab" is the trigger. The holder of
the card must shout "I'm Spartacus!" They may then pass the card on to
another person. You must have said "I'm Spartacus" before you pass on
the card on. If you fail to say "I'm Spartacus" at the right time you
must down your drink.
